Useful Utilities

The following utilities are optional for helping manage your Appvance IQ install

Monitor Running Processes

Process Explorer provides an in-depth and user-friendly view of processes and is a Microsoft-provided alternative to Task Manager

1. Download Process Explorer
2. Extract to your preferred location, for example, Desktop
3. Open procexp64.exe
4. As with Task Manager, all processes appear, however using Process Explorer, processes can be sorted hierarchically, and also reveal additional details when you place your mouse over any item. If you are not running Appvance as a service, this creates a clear view of the primary process related to Appvance as well any child processes, also called the process tree.
5. Right-click any process to kill the process much like with Task Manager, however, you can also choose to kill child processes or the process tree.
