# Identify Test Environment Hardware and Software

## Recommended guidance

Document the complete test environment before running scalability or performance tests. Results are only useful when the hardware, software, network, data, monitoring, and AIQ execution configuration are known and repeatable.

## Capture these details

- Application servers, databases, caches, queues, load balancers, and external dependencies.
- CPU, memory, disk, network, operating system, runtime, browser, and driver versions.
- AIQ version, Test Node count, node sizing, browser mode, and execution geography.
- Data volume, account pool, DPL/CSV sources, and cleanup/reset process.
- Monitoring tools, metrics, log locations, and dashboard links.

## Why it matters

Environment changes can explain different response times, error rates, and scalability limits. Record changes between calibration, baseline, stress, and final runs so results can be compared fairly.
