Appvance - HAR — Knowledge Base articles.

# HAR Knowledge Base Overview

# HAR Knowledge Base Overview

Use HAR knowledge base content for maintained HTTP Archive workflows only when HAR capture or replay remains part of the AIQ process.

## Recommended guidance

- Keep HAR guidance focused on capture, data handling, replay, and troubleshooting.
- Remove or consolidate duplicate one-off examples.
- Do not include sensitive headers, tokens, cookies, or production payloads.
- Prefer current Service Suite or Scenario Editor guidance when it replaces old HAR workflows.

## Validation workflow

1. Confirm whether the HAR workflow is still maintained.
2. Sanitize sensitive request and response data.
3. Validate the HAR in a non-production environment.
4. Document any replacement workflow or migration plan.

# Data-Enable HAR Scripts in AIQ

# Data-Enable HAR Scripts in AIQ

Data-enable HAR scripts only when a maintained HAR workflow needs controlled runtime values such as URLs, users, tokens, or request parameters.

## Recommended guidance

- Use approved test data sources and non-production values.
- Parameterize only values that must vary between runs.
- Avoid logging secrets, cookies, or tokens in shared output.
- Prefer current Service Suite patterns when they provide better maintainability.

## Validation workflow

1. Identify dynamic values in the HAR.
2. Map them to approved test data or DPL fields.
3. Run a small validation execution.
4. Review requests, responses, and output before scaling.

# HAR Advanced options questions.

<div id="bkmrk-question%3A-in-the-adv"><div>Question: In the advanced HAR option, how does Appvance IQ interpret the connection reset? </div>Response:

- Some request might throw a HTTP invalid connection, It is HAR specific.
- It doesn't mean that the test node is broken, just one of the HAR request was broken.
- It may also not showing the response time for those requests. As connection reset could be because of the firewall settings of the system.

<div>Question: Is there any way with which I can avoid connection reset.</div><div><div>- This is test dependent, like when you try to hit a server that is down or someone stopped the server

# Response Times

Sometimes in HAR we see 0 sec Response times for few of the request, what is the reason behind this?

Here is what we believe is happening:

The explanation is that the request are being stopped by a layer before the final web app, a load balancer or a process that validates the request and is returning a small response, very fast, thats why they see 0 sec response times, saying something similar to "The url has moved. Find it in this url: ....", with response code 200. So appvance is hitting this layer and getting a valid response back.

Since we do not know what the expected response is we see this as a valid response and mark that step as passed

Which arguably it is a valid step

But since we never jump to the new url the app server never sees the traffic.
