# MYSQL: Drop Schema is taking way too long to drop the schema.

Stop mysql service.

goto task manager &gt; Go to services tab &gt; look for MYSQL.

Right click the service and stop the service.

Again restart the same service.

Now drop the schema from MYSQL Workbench.
