# Disable "Are you sure you want to leave this page" notice in IE9

The **"Are you sure you want to leave this page"** notice in Internet Explorer 9 is a browser-level dialog and is not part of the page's DOM. Therefore, it cannot be handled like a regular HTML element using Appvance/Sahi selectors.

This notice is typically triggered by JavaScript running on the page, such as the `<span class="editor-theme-code">beforeunload</span>` event.

To prevent the notice from appearing, disable Active scripting in Internet Explorer:

1. Select **Start**, enter **Internet Options**, and select **Internet Options**.
2. Select the **Security** tab.
3. Click **Custom Level**.
4. Scroll down to **Scripting**.
5. Under **Active scripting**, select **Disable**.
6. Click **OK** and apply the changes.

Disabling Active scripting prevents the page's JavaScript from triggering the browser-level confirmation dialog.

> **Note:** Disabling Active scripting can affect other JavaScript-based functionality on the page. Use this setting only when required for the test environment.
