Find What Is Using an AIQ Port
Find What Is Using an AIQ Port
Use this procedure when AIQ or a Test Node cannot start because a required port is already in use. Identify the process first, then decide whether to stop it, reconfigure it, or change the AIQ port assignment.
Before changing anything
- Confirm which AIQ component reports the port conflict.
- Record the port number and host where the conflict occurs.
- Check whether the process using the port belongs to AIQ, another service, or a previous failed startup.
Recommended workflow
- Use the operating system's port/process tool to identify the process ID using the port.
- Confirm the process owner and command before stopping anything.
- If the process is stale, stop it using the approved server process-management method.
- If another service legitimately uses the port, update the AIQ configuration and restart the affected component.
Do not terminate unknown production processes without confirming ownership and impact.
