Slow AIQ ZIP extraction is usually caused by endpoint protection scanning, slow disk I/O, network shares, insufficient space, file permission checks, or extracting from a blocked/downloaded archive. Diagnose the host before assuming the AIQ package is defective.
Checks to run
- Confirm the ZIP file size, checksum, source, and whether the download completed cleanly.
- Extract on local fast storage instead of a network share when possible.
- Check free disk space, disk health, CPU, memory, and active endpoint scanning.
- Confirm the user has permission to create files in the target directory.
- Review antivirus/EDR logs for scans, quarantines, or policy blocks.
Recommended workflow
- Copy the ZIP to a local installation directory.
- Verify the file before extraction.
- Use approved extraction tools and avoid interrupting the process mid-write.
