Cloud Testing Options

Appvance IQ provides the followingseveral options tofor runrunning tests in a Cloud Testing environment. IdentifyThese theseoptions settingsare configured in a TestScenario.TestScenario and determine how AIQ provisions, uses, and manages TestNode instances during test execution.

The Scenario Builder supports the following settings:Cloud Testing settings.

Name

The Name identifies the Cloud Testing environment configuration used to manage the cloud resources.

Type

The Type specifies the cloud environment to use. Available options include:

  • EC2
  • SoftLayer
  • Grid
  • OpenStack

Beginning: determine AIQ's actions whilewhen staging the test.

Instantiate

Available options are:

  1. Create All — Creates new instances for all required TestNodes.
  2. None — Does not start or create any instances.
  3. Create Required — Uses available running instances and creates new instances only when additional machines are required.
For example, if three machines are required and one is already running, AIQ uses the followingexisting values
1)machine Createand creates the remaining two.
  4. Start All -— AllStarts newall instancesstopped willinstances. This option requires all machines to be createdstopped. -If Create New
    2) None - No instance will be started - None
    3) Create Required - Will create a new machine if thesome machines are not already started (For Example If there is already one machine that is running then that instance will be used and the other instance will be newly created) - Use Available (Create if Required)
    4) Start All: Only if all the machines are stopped then it will be useful ( For Example 1 machine is already running andwhile 2 machinesothers are stopped and if the user selects this will throwstopped, an error)error Allmay theoccur.
machines need to be stopped for this to work - Start Stopped Instance(s)

End

The End setting determines what Appvance IQ'sIQ behaviordoes onwith endingthe TestNode instances when the test finishes.

1)Available options are:

  1. Terminate All -— Terminates all instances
    2)instances.
  2. Started Started -— Terminates only the instances that were started instances
    3)for the test.
  3. None -— Does not terminate or stop any instances
