What is GENI Script Generation?
GENI is Appvance’s generative AI-powered automation engine. It converts plain-English test cases into fully executable test scripts within minutes — eliminating the need for manual testers, scripting, and recorders.
In short: you describe what to test in English, and GENI writes the automated test script for you — in bulk, and up to 400x faster than a human scripter.
In Appvance IQ, the module that runs GENI is called AI Script Generation (AISG). It is part of the Autonomous Testing area of the product, and is available from the AI Driven menu on the AIQ home screen.

Terminology: what changed in AIQ 5.2.0
With the introduction of GENI, Appvance updated its terminology:
| Old term | New term |
|---|---|
| >Blueprint Designer (UI) | >AI Script Generation (AISG) |
| >AI Blueprinting / AI Exploratory Testing | >Autonomous Testing |
| >Blueprint (exploration result) | >Digital Twin |
| >Blueprint file | >.abp / .abpt files (still used) |
Note: the term “Blueprint” is still used for the .abp / .abpt file that is created during an AISG execution.
How GENI works — at a glance
- Import your test cases and the AIQ Digital Twin — the AI-powered map of your application.
- Run the GENI process — GENI compares each English test case against the Digital Twin and generates the scripts.
- Use your scripts as automated regression tests — run them in AIQ, on demand or in CI/CD.
