Encrypt/Decrypt DPL

Encrypt and Decrypt DPL Data

Use this article when DPL-based operational test data must be encrypted or decrypted as part of an approved AIQ workflow. Treat encryption keys, secrets, and decrypted values as sensitive data.

  • Use encryption only for approved test data handling requirements.
  • Store keys and secrets in secured variables or an approved secret store.
  • Do not write decrypted values to logs, screenshots, reports, or shared artifacts.
  • Use synthetic or masked data whenever possible.
  • Document key owner, rotation, retention, and recovery expectations.

Validation workflow

  1. Test encryption and decryption with non-sensitive sample data.
  2. Confirm DPL output is usable by Scenario Editor or the target workflow.
  3. Verify logs do not expose plaintext values.
  4. Run a small smoke test before using the DPL in a larger suite.
