Run Functional Tests from Different Locations
Run Functional Tests from Different Locations
UserLast reviewed: September 21, 2026
Use this article when Scenario Editor functional tests must execute from different geographic regions, networks, or test nodes.
When to use this guidance
- You need to compare behavior by location or network path.
- Specific test nodes represent different data centers or regions.
- Results must identify where each execution ran.
Recommended approach
- Confirm the required locations and assign appropriate test nodes or execution pools.
- Verify browser, driver, network, DNS, and application access from each node.
- Parameterize environment or location-specific data instead of duplicating scenarios.
- Run a small smoke test from each location before full execution.
- Label results by location so failures can
gobetocomparedLocationsaccurately.
Note: ofUse Scenario Editor terminology for functional tests; avoid older Scenario Builder and click Add test location.wording.
Mention the Server IP and User should be able to run tests in different location.
For Ex:
When user clicks on "Add Test location"
User should specify the name of the server and URL should be modified as per below
http://localhost:8080/TMServer/ws/TestNode should be modifed to
http://Server-IP:8080/TMServer/ws/TestNode[. So If the Server IP is 192.168.1.1 the URL is changed to http://192.168.1.1:8080/TMServer/ws/TestNode
