Handle Website Pop-Ups in Scenario Editor
Last reviewed: September 21, 2026
Use this article when Scenario Editor tests encounter browser dialogs, modal windows, permission prompts, or application pop-ups.
Recommended guidance
- Identify whether the popup is a browser dialog, application modal, new tab, or permission prompt.
- Avoid fixed sleeps; wait for the popup condition that matters.
- Do not automatically grant browser permissions unless the test case explicitly requires it.
Validation workflow
- Trigger the action that opens the popup in a controlled step.
- Wait for the specific dialog, modal, tab, or message to appear.
- Validate the popup text or state before interacting with it.
- Accept, dismiss, or close the popup according to the test objective.
- Return focus to the main workflow and verify the expected page state.
Note: Older “Designer” wording has been replaced with Scenario Editor terminology.
