Use numeric extraction when a Scenario Editor test needs a number from text that also includes labels, symbols, or other characters.

Recommended guidance

• Decide whether decimals, negative signs, or separators should be preserved.
• Normalize the extracted value before comparing it with expected data.
• Avoid losing leading zeroes when they are meaningful identifiers.
• Capture the original text for troubleshooting.
