Test Designer 3: HTML5 Support
HTML5 is the latest evolution of the standard that defines HTML. The term represents two different concepts. It is a new version of the language HTML, with new elements, attributes, and behaviors, and a larger set of technologies that allows the building of more diverse and powerful Web sites and applications. This set is sometimes called HTML5 & friends and often shortened to just HTML5.
There are many pages which detail HTML 5 documentation

Authentication support:
For Test Designer (An AIQ engine) We support
Basic authentication
NTLM authentication
Cookies authentication
Digest authentication
ADFS with Kerberos authentication
Active Directory authentication
ADFS with NTLM authentication (ADFS - Extended Protection token check off)
ADFS with Negotiate authentication (ADFS - Extended Protection token check on)
Now, in order to login to AIQ itself, we have
Internal credentials system
LDAP (requires some configuration)
Test Designer supports most of the HTML 5 features, but because of the different ways a developer can trigger events in way different approach there might cases where the custom action might not work.
E.g.
For clicking a button, there are 2 functions, click and click2, most of the time click will work just fine. The reason is that click event in TestDesigner triggers every action a standard action will trigger but there is always other things the developer could do like using Pseduoclass doing and action. For more information abut pseudo classes checkhttps://www.w3schools.com/css/css_pseudo_classes.asp
For adding a file, due to the fact there is no standard approach to add a file in HTMLv 5, Test Designer provides 4 setFiles methods, and the correct one really depends on the way the developer has defined the set files.
As Test Designer injects record and playback tools, tools that detect a “man in the middle” might prevent TestDesigner record and injects or could stop the page from working.
The Browser itself could reject certificates generates by TestDesigner which will render the page throwing invalid certificates. (E.g. Google chrome rejects any certificate but the original certificate for www.google.com)
Appvance team keeps adding continuous support for every HTML 5 feature and major frameworks. Currently Test Designer 3.0 supports React, AngularJS, Angular 4, jquery, ExtJS, Bootstrap. Also, continous testing is done against most of the top websites.
Keep in mind even when Test Designer keeps compatibility with these frameworks as they are out and HTML5 in general, high recent release or forks might not be fully supported.
Appvance team provides several ways for users to connect to customers on support feature requests.
