Running JMeter Scripts in AIQ - Best Practices

Since

Running youJMeter wantScripts to havein AIQ generate- Best Practices

Use this guidance when running Apache JMeter scripts through AIQ. Keep scripts portable, parameterized, and controleobservable so results can be compared across environments and test runs.

Best practices

  • Keep JMeter scripts environment-neutral by using variables for hostnames, credentials, ports, and test data.
  • Validate the load, you need to modify your JMeter script tolocally justor 1in usera (numbersmall ofAIQ threads),run rampbefore upscheduling 0,high-volume execution.
  • Use realistic think time, ramp-up, and uncheckconcurrency the Specify thread lifetime. Loop count should be 1 most of the time. Can use a finite number but then need to considersettings that to AIQ a single transaction duration will be counting for all loops of samples.

Number of usersl rampup, and duration ofmatch the test thenobjective.

  • Externalize shouldtest bedata configureand avoid embedding secrets in theJMX files.
  • Capture transaction naming consistently so AIQ Scenarioreports Editorremain settings.readable.
  • Monitor

    Validation workflow

    1. Run a single-user smoke test and confirm expected transactions appear in AIQ.AIQ Becauseresults.
    2. Increase itload consumesgradually morewhile memorywatching errors, response time, and causesnode JMetercapacity.
    3. Review runninglogs tofor runmissing outfiles, ofplugin memory.

Disable any other listeners from JMeter script before running it in AIQ.

Number of Threads should be given 1 in JMeter when running performance tests in AIQ, because this will add up to the iterations.

Better to give Ramp-up as 0 in JMeter.

Same as Number of Threads, loop count to be given as 1 by default.

Thread group - Use continue, Stop test now accordingly, using stop now will stop all other remaining threads when a thread is a failure.

Remove or disable all Uniform Random Timers from jmx script
