Appvance IQ (AIQ) 5.3.11 Release Notes

Summary

Release 5.3.11 focuses on Performance reporting (Excel charts and an SLA compliance sheet), new Web Designer capabilities (readDoc, blob validation, Library Accessor logging), and Storage Manager and IDE reliability. It also adds an OTP code step, Chrome containerized support in Scenario Editor, and Enterprise licensing for GENI.

The release keeps to a familiar theme for AIQ: fewer manual steps between a test and an answer. The new performance reporting is the clearest example — a completed run now arrives as a shareable Excel view with charts and SLA compliance, so results can go straight to stakeholders instead of being rebuilt by hand.

Post-Upgrade Action Required: AIQ-5.3.x → AIQ-5.3.11

(Not required if you are upgrading from 5.3.8 → 5.3.X)

If your controller was running AIQ-5.3.7 or earlier before upgrading to AIQ-5.3.8, run the cleanup script below once after the upgrade completes.

If you are upgrading from 5.3.8 or newer, these actions are not required.

Why: AIQ-5.3.7 and earlier versions shipped with an updater bug that could leave old, stale .jar files sitting alongside their replacements instead of being overwritten during an upgrade. If left in place, these stale files can cause confusing runtime errors that are unrelated to anything in your actual configuration.

Who needs this: Only controllers upgrading from AIQ-5.3.0 to AIQ-5.3.7. If you’re upgrading from 5.2.x or an older release directly to 5.3.8, no action is needed.

What to do:

Download the cleanup script for your platform:
- Windows: ~~Remove-StaleAiqJars.ps1~~
- Linux/macOS: ~~remove-stale-aiq-jars.sh~~

Run the script:

Windows:     .\Remove-StaleAiqJars.ps1 -Path C:\AIQ\aiq_distribution
Linux/macOS: ./remove-stale-aiq-jars.sh /opt/aiq/aiq_distribution

The ~~script~~utility only removes jars strictly older than your currently installed version — it will never touch current or newer files. A log of everything it did is written to the distribution folder for your records.

Core: Added a “request OTP code” step to support one-time-passcode login flows.

Improved browser navigation handling for non-HTML content and for actions that trigger alerts and downloads.
Fixed an issue where the Iteration summary report sometimes could not be downloaded.
Fixed PDF corruption caused by UTF-8 encoding during IDE upload.
Reduced merge conflicts in Storage Manager, Git, and the IDE.
Added logging for the “Library Accessor” action.
Fixed duplicate states appearing during AISG scans.

Web/Mobile/Desktop Designer

Fixed the Export to Service Workbench limitation caused by a unique login per iteration.

Overall Improvements

More reliable Performance reporting, with richer Excel output.
Stronger Web Designer support for document and download handling.
More stable Storage Manager, Git, and IDE workflows.
Broader browser and authentication coverage (Chrome containers, OTP, Salesforce Inspector).
