Appvance IQ (AIQ) 5.3.11 Release Notes
Summary
Release 5.3.11 focuses on Performance reporting (Excel charts and an SLA compliance sheet), new Web Designer capabilities (readDoc, blob validation, Library Accessor logging), and Storage Manager and IDE reliability. It also adds an OTP code step, Chrome containerized support in Scenario Editor, and Enterprise licensing for GENI.
The release keeps to a familiar theme for AIQ: fewer manual steps between a test and an answer. The new performance reporting is the clearest example — a completed run now arrives as a shareable Excel view with charts and SLA compliance, so results go straight to stakeholders instead of being rebuilt by hand.
Post-upgrade action required: AIQ 5.3.x → AIQ 5.3.11
Not required if you are upgrading from 5.3.8 or later.
If your controller was running AIQ 5.3.7 or earlier before this upgrade, ask your Appvance account team for the post-upgrade cleanup utility and run it once when the upgrade completes.
Why it is needed: 5.3.7 and earlier shipped with an updater bug that could leave old, stale .jar files sitting alongside their replacements instead of being overwritten during an upgrade. Left in place, those files can produce runtime errors that have nothing to do with your configuration.
Who needs it: Only controllers that were running 5.3.0 through 5.3.7 before upgrading. If you are coming from 5.2.x or older, no action is needed.
What to do: Your Appvance account team will provide the utility for your platform (Windows or Linux/macOS), walk you through the run, and confirm the log with you. The utility only removes jars strictly older than the installed version — it never touches current or newer files — and writes a log of everything it did to the distribution folder for your records.
Database and MySQL guides
