Appvance IQ (AIQ) 5.3.11 Release Notes

Release 5.3.11 focuses on Performance reporting (Excel charts and an SLA compliance sheet), new Web Designer capabilities (readDoc, blob validation, Library Accessor logging), and Storage Manager and IDE reliability. It also adds an OTP code step, Chrome containerized support in Scenario Editor, and Enterprise licensing for GENI.

Every release lands on the same idea: AIQ stays the system of record for what ran, where it ran, against which environment and data — so your team spends its time on quality, not maintenance.

Before you upgrade: one cleanup step

Not required if you are upgrading from 5.3.8 or later.

Why: 5.3.7 and earlier shipped with an updater bug that could leave old, stale .jar files sitting alongside their replacements instead of being overwritten during an upgrade. Left in place, those files can produce runtime errors that have nothing to do with your configuration.

Who needs it: Only controllers that were running 5.3.0 through 5.3.7 before upgrading. If you are coming from 5.2.x or older, no action is needed.

What to do: Ask your Appvance account team for the post-upgrade cleanup utility and run it once when the upgrade completes. They will provide the version for your platform (Windows or Linux/macOS), walk you through the run and confirm the log. The utility only removes jars strictly older than the installed version — it never touches current or newer files — and writes a log of everything it did to the distribution folder for your records.

What’s new in 5.3.11

Core

A “request OTP code” step, so one-time-passcode login flows are testable out of the box.

Scenario Editor

Chrome containerized support — no more version drift between machines.

Web Designer

New readDoc method reads downloaded .doc and .docx files, with validation of blob contents for URLs.

Test Designer

Support for the Salesforce Inspector extension on Chrome and Edge.

Performance

An Excel report with analysis charts, plus an SLA compliance sheet with selectable percentile duration.

Bulk Scenario Type

Detects .ds data files and offers to add them to the scenario and assign them to the script.

What got better

Core

Browser navigation handles non-HTML content, alerts and downloads more reliably.

The Iteration summary report downloads every time.

UTF-8 encoding no longer corrupts PDFs on IDE upload.

Fewer merge conflicts across Storage Manager, Git and the IDE.

The “Library Accessor” action now logs what it did.

No more duplicate states during AISG scans.

    Web, Mobile and Desktop Designers

Export to Service Workbench works even when each iteration uses a unique login.

Taken together: reporting you can hand straight to stakeholders, stronger document and download handling in Web Designer, steadier Storage Manager and Git workflows, and wider browser and authentication coverage.
