IP Spoofing Setup Guidance for AIQ Tests

Use IP spoofing only when the test objective explicitly requires traffic to appear from different source addresses and the network owner has approved the setup. This is an advanced environment configuration, not a default Scenario Editor requirement.

Before enabling IP spoofing

  • Confirm the target network, firewall, and load-balancer teams approve the test.
  • Document the source IP range, target environment, Test Nodes, and test window.
  • Verify the application under test is authorized to receive this traffic pattern.
  • Keep the configuration out of shared articles if it contains customer-specific network details.

Validation workflow

  1. Run a small connectivity test from one Test Node.
  2. Confirm the target sees the expected source address behavior.
  3. Monitor errors, routing, firewall, and application logs during scale-up.
  4. Record the configuration with the execution evidence and rollback steps.
