Install and Configure GraalVM 11

Appvance guidance

Installrequires GraalVM 11 onlyto whenbe installed on the AIQcontroller versionmachine orin legacyorder deploymentto requiresrun it.Appvance ForIQ. currentGraalVM environments,is verifya JDK (Java Development Kit) that is designed to accelerate the supportedexecution runtimeof applications written in theJava AIQand other JVM languages.

Before installation

  • Confirm AIQ version, operating system, CPU architecture,

    Download and supportedInstall GraalVM build.Version 11

    1. GraalVM 11 can be downloaded from https://github.com/graalvm/graalvm-ce-builds/releases/tag/vm-21.3.0.
    2. Download the Java 11 based Windows installer.

    3. When the download is complete, extract the zip file to C:\Program Files.

    Configure Environment Variables

    1. Locate the folder where graalvm 11 is copied over (in the C:/Program Files from anthe approvedstep sourceabove)
    2. For example C:\Program Files\graalvm-ce-java11-windows-amd64-21.3.0\graalvm-ce-java11-21.3.0
    3. Open the System Properties dialog, select the Advanced tab and verifyclick Environment Variables.

    4. In the archiveSystem whenVariables possible.section, click New.
    5. PlanEnter environmentJAVA_HOME variables,as servicethe accountvariable access,name.
      For andthe installationvariable path.
    6. Backvalue upenter existingthe runtimepath configuration before replacement.

Validation workflow

  1. Confirmto the GraalVM versionthat fromyou downloaded and extracted. For example C:\Program Files\graalvm-ce-java11-21.3.0.

  2. Click Ok.
  3. In the accountSystem Variables list, select the Path variable and click Edit.
  4. Enter your Java path, appended by \bin; at the beginning of the Variable value box. For example: C:\Program Files\graalvm-ce-java11-21.3.0\bin;

Confirm Java Installation

  1. Open a Command Prompt.
  2. Type java -version
  3. Confirm that starts AIQ.
  4. Restart AIQ services after configuration changes.
  5. Review logs for runtime, path, or permission errors.
  6. Run representative smoke tests before returning the environmentcorrect toversion users.of Java has been installed.
