Performance Testing Primer for AIQ

Performance Testing Primer for AIQ

Last reviewed: September 21, 2026

This primer explains the baseline concepts for planning performance and scalability tests in AIQ. Use it before designing load profiles or interpreting reports.

When to use this guidance

  • You are preparing a new performance test effort.
  • Stakeholders need shared terminology for load, throughput, latency, and scalability.
  • You need to define success criteria before running tests.
  1. Define the business workflow, population, and target volume.
  2. Establish baseline response times and throughput with a small load.
  3. Create realistic ramp-up, steady-state, and ramp-down patterns.
  4. Monitor application, database, network, and AIQ test node capacity during execution.
  5. Compare results against agreed thresholds and document bottlenecks.

Note: A performance test without clear objectives usually produces unclear results. Define goals before execution.
