AppDynamics Integration

AppDynamics can be integrated with AIQ so performance-test results can link to application, server, or database dashboards.

  1. Sign in to AIQ and open Global Options.
  2. Select Preferences > APM Integration.
  3. Configure the integration: select AppDynamics as the type, enter the dashboard URL, provide a meaningful report name, and select a time range of 10, 30, or 60 minutes. For a 10-minute range, a transaction at 12:41 opens a dashboard covering approximately 12:35–12:45.
  4. Use the available controls to clear, save, or delete a configuration.
  5. Sign in to AppDynamics and select the configured application, server, or database dashboard. Copy its URL into AIQ and save the configuration.
  6. Create, save, and run the performance test in the Scenario Editor. No scenario configuration changes are required; increase the log percentage in the Options panel when execution-graph data is needed (for example, 10% logs).
  7. While the test is running or after it finishes, open Analyze > Test Case Executions, select an iteration and test case, and select an execution marker.
  8. Use the AppDynamics button shown for the execution to open the configured dashboard. If authentication is required, provide credentials when prompted. Multiple configurations can be added and are available from the execution view.
