How to upgrade MySQL database ?

For upgrading MySQL from 5.6 to 5.7 version:

** Windows OS only **

Backup the APC database instance using workbench or through command-line steps.

-- Stop the MySQL service:

NET STOP MySQL56

(Note: Check the exact name of the service using 'services.msc' tool)

-- Delete the MySQL Service:

sc delete MySQL56

-- Install MySQL57 (automatically upgrades existing MySQL56 installation)
