Use this page when SQL*Plus is needed to validate Oracle-compatible RDS connectivity or run approved diagnostic queries for AIQ-related environments.

Recommended guidance

• Confirm the database engine is Oracle-compatible before using SQL*Plus.
• Use approved client software and least-privilege database accounts.
• Never paste database passwords or connection strings with secrets into documentation.

Validation workflow

1. Confirm hostname, port, service name/SID, network access, and security group rules.
2. Install the approved Oracle client or SQL*Plus package for the admin workstation or host.
3. Test connectivity with a least-privilege account.
4. Run only approved read-only diagnostic queries unless a change window authorizes updates.
5. Record results without including credentials.
