Use AWS Reserved Instances for AIQ Infrastructure
Recommended guidance
AWS Reserved Instances can reduce infrastructure cost for stable AIQ workloads, but they should be planned with finance, cloud operations, and environment owners. Do not reserve capacity without confirming usage, region, instance family, term, and ownership.
Before reserving
- Confirm whether the AIQ workload is steady enough to justify a reservation.
- Review region, instance type, operating system, term, payment option, and expected utilization.
- Coordinate with cloud governance and budgeting owners.
- Compare Reserved Instances with Savings Plans or current cloud purchasing standards.
Operational guidance
- Track which AIQ environments are intended to consume the reservation.
- Review utilization regularly to avoid unused commitment.
- Document renewal dates and ownership.
- Re-evaluate reservations before AIQ upgrades, scaling changes, or cloud architecture changes.
