Integration with New Relic (APM)

Assume that New Relic is installed and configured for the target applications, servers, databases, load balancers, and other monitored components.

AIQ can be used with New Relic for application and infrastructure performance visibility. Use the associated New Relic configuration procedure to add the New Relic settings required by your AIQ environment.

What is New Relic and why is it required?

New Relic is a performance-management platform that helps teams diagnose and resolve application-performance issues in real time.

An application’s behavior depends on both its code and the production systems that run it. Monitoring those systems is therefore as important as measuring application performance. New Relic provides a straightforward way to monitor infrastructure alongside the application.

Depending on the application, the environment may include web components, databases, load balancers, and other services. Components may initially share a host, but larger deployments commonly place them on separate hosts. As the number of hosts grows, checking each host individually becomes difficult. New Relic server dashboards address this by providing a consolidated snapshot of production-server health.
