Find What Is Using an AIQ Port

Use this procedure when AIQ or a Test Node cannot start because a required port is already in use. Identify the process first, then decide whether to stop it, reconfigure it, or change the AIQ port assignment.

Before changing anything

  • Confirm which AIQ component reports the port conflict.
  • Record the port number and host where the conflict occurs.
  • Check whether the process using the port belongs to AIQ, another service, or a previous failed startup.
  1. Use the operating system's port/process tool to identify the process ID using the port.
  2. Confirm the process owner and command before stopping anything.
  3. If the process is stale, stop it using the approved server process-management method.
  4. If another service legitimately uses the port, update the AIQ configuration and restart the affected component.

Do not terminate unknown production processes without confirming ownership and impact.
